Installation Process #

Step 1: Downloading Theme Files #

You should have received a ZIP file containing everything you need, either through your checkout confirmation page or in your email receipt. Make sure to unzip the downloaded file to access all the theme components. Inside, you’ll find:

  • The theme’s main .zip file for installation
  • Documentation files
  • Demo content (images and blog posts)

Step 2: Uploading the Theme in WordPress #

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Appearance > Themes in the sidebar.
  3. Click Add New at the top, then Upload Theme.
  4. Select the theme’s .zip file from your computer and click Install Now.
  5. Once installed, click Activate to enable the theme on your site.

Step 3: Installing Required Plugin #

This theme requires a few plugins to ensure everything runs smoothly. Once you activate the theme, go to Plugins > Add New Plugins > Type [The Plugin Name] > Install > Activate

Necessary Plugins: #

  • SCF (Secure Custom Fields) – Adds customizable fields to your theme. (Note that SCF was renamed from ACF in October 2024)

Starter Plugin Recommendations: #

  • Wordfence – Adds security to protect your site from threats.
  • Yoast SEO – Helps with search engine optimization for better visibility.
  • UpdraftPlus – Backup solution to save your site and recover quickly if needed.

If any of the plugins fail to install automatically, you can search for and install them directly via Plugins > Add New in your dashboard.

Step 4: Importing Demo Content #

To get your site looking like the demo, follow these steps to import the provided content:

  1. Go to Tools > Import in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Select WordPress Importer and install the importer plugin if prompted.
  3. Upload the provided demo content XML file (found in the unzipped package).
  4. Assign the demo posts to an existing user (you can use your admin account).
  5. Make sure to select the option to import file attachments (this imports the images too).
  6. Click Submit to start the import process.

This step will populate your site with placeholder content to help you get started.
