These elements are essential for your website’s branding and SEO. Here’s how you can easily update them through the WordPress dashboard.
Step 1: Access the Customizer #
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to Appearance > Customize from the sidebar.
Step 2: Update Site Title & Tagline #
- In the Customizer, click on Site Identity.
- You’ll see the fields for Site Title and Tagline:
- Site Title: This is the name of your website (usually your brand or blog name).
- Tagline: A short description or slogan that summarizes your site’s purpose.
- Enter your new Site Title and Tagline.
- Preview the Changes in the right-hand preview pane to see how they look.
Step 3: Upload a Favicon (Site Icon) #
- In the same Site Identity section, scroll down to Site Icon (this is the favicon that appears in the browser tab).
- Click Select Site Icon to upload an image.
- Recommended size: 512 x 512 pixels for optimal display.

- After uploading, crop the image if necessary, or skip cropping if the size is correct.

Step 4: Save Your Changes #
- Once you’re happy with the Site Title, Tagline, and Favicon, click the Publish button at the top of the Customizer.
- Your changes will now be live on the site.
